The elephant is the largest living land animal in the world --- with a brain to match. Their brains are about 10 pounds on average and align with the fact they are extremely intelligent animals and are very emotional animals.
Adult elephants have no real predators in the wild… except us.
Despite a ban on the international trade in ivory, African elephants are still being poached in large numbers. Tens of thousands of elephants are being killed every year for their ivory tusks. While elephant poaching has declined - it has not disappeared.
Globally, 1 in 9 people still have no access to clean water. But in the communities we serve, it's 9 out of 9. Water is a daily and crippling challenge. Without water you can't grow food, you can't build housing, you can't stay healthy, you can't stay in school and you can't keep working.
Today, hope is on hold in over half of the developing world's primary schools without access to water and sanitation.
